Do i need to be an LLC or S CORP or any other type of business to accepts donations, sponsors?

I own a website that focuses around music. Part of the site is internet radio. I am not an LLC, S Corp, or any established business in that light. There have been people who want to pay money to advertise on my site, and there are people who want to donate money and sponsor us as well. I have also been thinking about signing up for google adwords/adsense. Am i legally allowed to accept any of this whatsoever. I will eventually become and LLC. But as it stands right now im not one. Any advice will help a great deal. I was once told that in order for me to accept any of the above, i needed to have a tax-id, registered as a business,etc.
